The Sewing Shed jigsaw puzzle is a slightly challenging puzzle from Ravensburger. Stylistically the puzzle is a cross between the The Cake Shed and Seamstress Shop. Overall, a fun puzzle for group collaboration, sewing enthusiasts, or anyone who enjoys colorful jigsaw puzzles.

The illustration for Sewing Shed depicts a tiny, cozy room for sewing. There are four distinctive areas to the illustration, the blue window with view of the outside, the mannequin, yellowish shed wall with a lamp, and the sewing machine with the purple hue table and chair. Overall, the illustration is very colorful with a bright color palette. Personally, we liked the blue window area the best.
Build:
Per the illustration, the plan was to sort the puzzle based on four key areas of the puzzle: the blue window with view of a lush garden, the yellow wall with lamp, the mannequin, and the purple table and chair with sewing machine. Interestingly, we did not focus on sorting the border pieces, it was a secondary priority.
In the actual build, the three of us focused on a different portion of the puzzle. One focused on the blue window with view of garden, another focused on the mannequin, and the last person focused on the shed’s yellow wall with the lamp. The three main areas were then connected together. Finally, the table and chair with the sewing machine was worked on together.
Difficulty:
Initially, we estimated that it would take about 4 hours to complete this puzzle, because of to the illustration’s complexity. In the end, the puzzle was completed in 3 hours and 4 minutes (3:04:25). The faster completion time was attributed to our build strategy with sorting, each person focusing on a major area of the puzzle, and working together to solve the puzzle’s darker regions. In hindsight, the Seamstress Shop, took us about the same time.
Furthermore, with completion of The Sewing Shed as the 19th puzzle, there are now 68 puzzles left in the 87 puzzle collection to be completed. Leave us a comment if there are any other sewing jigsaw puzzles that you would want us to solve.
